Carson Block has extensive experience in law and finance – both in the U.S. and in China. He is founder and Managing Director of Singapore-based wealth management firm YBS Investment Consulting. He recently co-authored Doing Business in China for Dummies (Wiley); and, will soon be launching www.chinaprimer.com, which is a website dedicated to helping Western companies do business in China. Prior to founding YBS, Carson was an attorney with Jones Day in Shanghai, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, and foreign direct investment. He was previously a principal of W.A.B. Capital, a Los Angeles-based equity research boutique. Carson is licensed to practice law in the State of New York. Carson received his Juris Doctor degree with high honors from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was a member of the law review and the moot court honors society. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. Carson is the Vice President of the Shanghai chapter of the Alumni Association of the University of Southern California. He will be an adjunct faculty member of the joint Chicago-Kent College of Law / East China University of Politics and Law LL.M. program in Shanghai.
