Brantley Turner Bradley is the Founder and Managing Director of China Prep, an experiential education business that provides small groups of U.S. students with dynamic, learning experiences in China, founded in 2006. China Prep participants learn about China through customized programs of site visits, language classes and travel.
Since her first visit to China in 1994, Brantley has developed her knowledge of the language, history, culture, and people of China as a tourist, graduate student and business professional.
Prior to founding China Prep, Brantley was a Director at the boutique market research firm Jigsaw International. She began her career at the advertising agency Foote, Cone and Belding in their Shanghai office. Her professional expertise in China - qualitative market research, consumer insights, and marketing - gives her an in-depth understanding of detailed Chinese market trends with a special focus on contemporary Chinese youth. Her work facilitated her understanding of both rural and urban China from the local perspective and she has served as a China market strategy advisor to some of world’s most important consumer brands including Nike and Coca-Cola. She is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and believes that communication is the most valuable currency for access to people, places and experiences rare to a foreigner in modern China.
Originally from New York, Brantley is a graduate of Brown University, Providence, R.I., with a double major in East Asian Studies and Art Semiotics. She holds graduate certificates from The Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing, China and The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese and American Studies.
