Sean is founder and CEO of Neocha, the leading social networking site, event platform and youth culture consultancy for creative communities in
China. Sean is a half Chinese, half American whose interest in technology started in Silicon Valley, where he grew up. Living throughout China for over 5 years, Sean started Neocha by combining his love for technology with another of his passions: youth culture in China.
Starting Neocha from scratch, Sean has built the online community into the largest for independent youth culture in China. Along with online network, Neocha has organized a wide range of innovative events, including NeoSpring, which attracted over 10,000 people and is considered the largest creative community event in recent Shanghai history. In addition to Neocha, Sean is contributing editor and China representative for PSFK, an international trends and innovation agency.
Sean covers China and Asia Pacific trends and writes weekly to an audience of over 250,000 readers. Sean also acts as a China Internet expert for the National Committee on United States - China Relations and regularly meets with US congressional delegations and journalists in China.
Prior to founding Neocha, Sean was a Senior Associate with Alaris, a China market-entry consulting firm in Shanghai, where he focused on China market and industry research, consumer branding and competitive strategy assessment. Sean is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Duke University, where he majored in Economics and graduated from the Johns Hopkins-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies.
