About Amaury cooper

Amaury Cooper currently serves as an Operations Coordinator for an international control risks and secruity consulting firm .   His responsibilities include project management and coordination, critical analysis of client security needs, and the development of Crisis & Security Management training and presentation materials.  Amaury also oversees product demonstration, training, and implementation for Control Risks’ Virtual Incident Management System (VIMS)—a hosted technology solution that expedites crisis notification and management.
 
Earlier in his career, Amaury studied and worked in China for six years and traveled extensively throughout East and Southeast Asia.  While living in both Beijing and Shanghai, he was Head of Marketing for a Singapore-based IT/Telecom consulting company and a Marketing Consultant for several business intelligence and retail companies.  Prior to living in Asia, Amaury held Research Associate positions at several non-profit think tanks and helped research and edit portions of the book Terror in the Mind of God.    
 
Amaury holds a Master of Arts degree in International Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Security Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara with minors in Global Peace & Security and East Asian Cultural Studies. He has deep expertise on a wide variety of domestic and international security issues, primarily terrorism and transnational crime, security & development, and nonproliferation.    
 
Amaury is the Founder and Chief Merrymaking Officer of Meet, Drink & Be Merry (www.meetdrink.com); Founder and Director of the China Networking Group; Co-founder and Managing Partner of Scitilop.com; and Co-founder and Managing Partner of The Monterey Group (see projects).  He is a member of the Society for International Development, The Asia Society and the World Affairs Council.  He is fluent in French and Mandarin Chinese and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
