I live with my husband Charlie Savage in Denver Colorado. I grew up in China and later moved to Golden, Colorado with my parents and sister Xi Xi. I graduated from Golden High School and then the Colorado School of Mines. I’ve living in Colorado for over 20 years - I love the weather, the gorgeous outdoors and having my family live nearby.
I work for a local startup, Skyetek, which is in the RFID business. I am the director of business development for Asia Pacific, including China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, India, Australia, New Zealand and southeast Asia. That means I spend a lot of time in Asia, particularly in Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei and Singapore.
I really like my job – not only do I get to travel to Asia frequently – I also get to work with the largest OEMs in the world. I’m also in charge of building up Skyetek’s presence in Asia, by building partnerships, signing up distributors, direct sales and creating other sales channels. It is also a huge responsibility and lots of hard work.
I also really like working with RFID – its applications seem almost endless. Common consumer applications include building security cards (I bet you have one), toll booths, “Express Pay” services offered by credit cards, identification chips for pets, etc. Skyetek provides the guts of many of these applications, similar to how Intel provides much of the technology inside of computers.
